Major Changes (Membership Models and Discounts)
The Omni Movement, since its inception, has sought to provide 1) a feeling of home & community, and 2) accessible, high quality, beginner-friendly progressive partner dance classes.
In service of these values, starting July, Omni will transition to a membership model, moving away from monthly purchasing of track passes towards a recurring membership system (similar to those offered by gyms).
The reasons for this shift are to:
reduce the hassle of monthly interaction with payment systems
give students easy, App-based access to our building, Artthaus
welcome students to use the studio regardless of day of week
pave the path for Omni’s future, which encourages cross-training in different styles
As of June 29th 2024, the starting tiers and policies, which reflect same or reduced cost to students, are as follows:
Exclusions
Please note, these memberships DO NOT include special programming not listed above, such as:
Social Dance Masterclasses (to be held on Wednesdays in August)
Weekenders
Coaching programs or private lessons
Membership Policies
The following fees and policies will be in place to offset the cost of administration:
Setup Fee: $29 (waived for July)
Freeze Option: Freeze your membership at no cost for up to 3 months per year. Note that cancellations and freezes take effect starting the next calendar month.
No Partial Track Signups: All reservations for Track Passes (i.e. classes with Levels) are for all 4 weeks of the series. Drop-in reservations are possible for other class types.
Latch Building Access
Starting in July, we will slowly roll out access to Latch, the software system for unlocking doors in our building, Artthaus (no more codes!).
Changes to Volunteer & Need-Based Discounts
The Omni Promise, which gives need-based discounts, has been a core feature of our brand and reflects our deepest values. Additionally, Omni has provided the Contributor Program, which grants volunteers discounts for their contributions.
Based on both feedback from contributors and reflection on our values, we are making the following shifts:
Building a home involves collaboration that seeks to meet needs of all parties. We will ask Omni Promise applicants to discuss with Omni a way to contribute to Omni’s programming, such as by working 4 shifts a month, with the option to waive contribution if need be.
We are shifting away from the Contributor Program towards a more straightforward work-trade Ambassador (i.e. volunteer) program, which
reduce the work needed for both volunteers and Omni staff to maintain the system
allow for one-off volunteering
allow for the fairer exchange of discounts for reasonable labor in service to the community
This program will be as follows:
Ambassador (i.e. Volunteer) Policies
If you volunteer for at least 1 shift at a Social, you will receive free access to it (shifts are generally 45 to 60 minutes).
If you volunteer for 1 shift in a month (some shifts are spread over 4 weeks of programming) for a Progressive Program, you receive 50% off that month for that program's classes. Volunteers for 2 shifts will get 100% off!
Interested in volunteering? Email info@theomnimovement.org.
Instructor Policies
Active instructors (taught 1 of the last 2 months) receive free access to all Omni Progressive Programs and Socials as long as they are not at capacity.
Other Staff Policies
Specified Staff receive free access to all Omni Progressive Programs and Socials as long as they are not at capacity. These currently include:
Studio Manager
Ambassador Program Leads
Weekender/Special Programming Policies
The Ambassador system will be utilized to meet demands of special programing as they are organized.
Will I stop receiving my contributor discount in July?
Of course not! Thank you so much for your contributions! We will let contributor statuses fade over time as your hours expire. We will provide new discount codes to those with existing contributor status for July.
We are excited about this new chapter for the Omni Movement!
Feel free to reach out or fill out the anonymous feedback form if you have any questions or feedback.

Imaan, Helen, and Tony
